You may have desired to read the Bible for a long time, but found it nearly overwhelming in magnitude. You may have read it many times, and just be looking for a fresh approach. Either way, this outline helps you look at the Bible through the eyes of the apostles by placing the gospels and Acts at the beginning of your outline.
You spend the first 12 weeks of the year studying the Gospels and Acts, to make sure you first really get to know Jesus, and everything the Bible tells us about Him. You then make your way through the rest of the New Testament, and then through the old Testament. You round out the year by returning to the Gospels and Acts.
Most important, is to make sure to pray before and after your daily reading. Ask God to lead you into understanding and wisdom, and then thank Him for what he gives you. You may find it helpful to keep a diary of the things that your time with God’s word reveals to you.
